Camden Woman Sentenced to Prison for Child Sex Trafficking

Child Sex Trafficking Attorney in Camden NJ
A Camden woman will serve six years in prison followed by five years on supervised release after pleading guilty to trafficking a minor for sex, according to a recent article at NJ.com.
The woman also pleaded guilty to a similar charge in a 2015 case.
According to documents filed in the case, the woman told the minor about a “dating website” that would allow the minor to make money by going on “dates.” She also promised the minor food, clothing, and shelter in exchange for the minor’s compliance.
A Camden man and a Collingswood man are also facing charges in the case after prosecutors say they conspired with the woman to advertise the minor’s availability for “commercial sex acts” and drove the minor to multiple locations to have sex in exchange for money. During the transition from one of these locations to another, the defendants let the minor stop to make a phone call, at which time the minor contacted police, according to prosecutors.
Facing charges of a sex crime can be unusually difficult – even devastating. Often, a person charged with such a crime is convicted and condemned by public opinion even if the evidence shows they are innocent. Your reputation may suffer while your freedom is at stake.
The best approach to any sex crime accusation is to respond proactively. Start by contacting an experienced New Jersey defense lawyer. Your attorney can listen to your side of the story, fight to protect your legal rights while examining the evidence, and address any holes, inconsistencies, or other issues that point toward your innocence.
