Sexual offense charges in New Jersey are incredibly serious. Not only do they carry serious legal penalties, but they can also destroy a person’s life and career. A Jersey City police officer was recently arrested in Atlantic City and is facing several serious charges.
Police officer arrested for sex crimes
Recently, an investigation involving the New Jersey State Police, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Jersey City police officer. The defendant allegedly traveled to Atlantic City to meet two underage girls. He communicated with other adults using a chat app who said they would provide him with access to the children when he arrived.
The adults were part of an incest chat group and offered him access to the 8- and 10-year-old girls for $200. When the defendant was arrested in a parking lot in Atlantic City, he had condoms and more than $500 in his possession. He has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Human Trafficking, Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is facing decades in prison and hundreds of thousands in fines.
